Frederic Curie was born in Paris on March 19, 1900 . He worked at the Radium Institute, as an assistant to Marie Curie, whose daughter Irene he would marry in 1926. Working with his wife, they discovered artificial radioactivity in 1934. By bombarding various elements with alpha particles, they produced radioactive isotopes.
